SUMMARY:Feldman Fellowship 10th Anniversary Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Boston Sculptors Gallery and The Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston\, Inc. presents the Feldman Fellowship 10th Anniversary Exhibition.  \nThe Feldman Fellowship 10th Anniversary Exhibition features work by all 20 of the artist recipients of the eponymous award launched by Walter Feldman and the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston in 2015. Showcasing the talents of this diverse and dynamic group of regional artists\, the exhibition offers dynamic and innovative new work exploring themes ranging from social justice\, to identity politics\, immigration and more through sculpture\, drawing\, painting\, printmaking\, collage\, ceramics\, and illustration. \nThe Walter Feldman Fellowship for Emerging Artists is endowed by painter\, printmaker\, and educator Walter Feldman (1925-2017). A renowned educator and abstract expressionist\, Feldman long held the goal to support young artists with opportunities for professional recognition and growth. He taught at Brown University for 54 years. \nSupporting the careers of emerging artists\, the Fellowship provides funding as well as professional development consulting and one-on-one mentoring from art industry professionals\, including expert guidance on improving business skills for the effective presentation and promotion of their work. Unlike most awards\, the Fellowship is unique in that it is not juried by a panel\, but by a single new juror designated each year\, making the selection of awardees reflective of each individual juror’s curatorial interests and expertise. \nThis exhibition is curated by Almitra Stanley\, Boston Sculptors Gallery Director\, and professional development consultant and mentor to the Feldman Fellows since 2015\, in collaboration with Jim Grace\, Lennon Hernandez Wolcott\, and D’lynne Plummer of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston. \nArtist’s Reception\nFriday\, July 18\, 5 – 8pm \nSoWa First Friday Reception\nAugust 1\, 5 – 8:30pm \nGallery Hours\nWednesday – Sunday\, 11am – 5pm \nParticipating Artists \nSarah Myers Brent  |  Kelly Carmody  |  Jeanne Ciravolo  |  Zachary Chomz  |  Julia Cseko  |  Katherine Mitchell DiRico Sarah Hulsey  |  Molly Kaderka  |  Arghavan Khosravi  |  Marla McLeod  |   Jo Nanajian   |   Yuko Okabe  |  Rowan Raskin  |  Rixy  |  AJ Rombach  |  Gabriel Sosa  |  Brooke Stewart  |  Jessica Tam  |  Anthony Young  |  Szu-Chieh Yun \n\nQuestions?\n\nLennon Hernandez Wolcott\nDevelopment and Operations Manager\nArts & Business Council of Greater Boston\nlennon@artsandbusinesscouncil.org\nwww.artsandbusinesscouncil.org \nAlmitra Stanley\nDirector\, Boston Sculptors Gallery\nAlmitra.stanley@gmail.com\nBostonSculptors.com
