Accumulating Rhythms

A first-of-its kind artwork for the New England region, Accumulating Rhythms is a proposed large-scale lighting installation on the Tobin Bridge driven by real-time climate data. This public artwork will serve as a searchlight, looking for hopeful paths into the future from our current vantage point.

The artwork will stand at the intersection of circumstances, much like the bridge itself: where the intention to survive meets the drive for industrial and technological progress. Exploring this modern moment of environmental and climate reckoning, this artwork is an investigation and aesthetic confluence of climatological, capitalist, and environmental factors.

Accumulating Rhythms is an artwork by MASARY Studios and is supported by several key partners including the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston, and Probable Futures.

You can help to fund this ambitious project at the ground level, helping to provide the early investments enabling engineering and design studies needed to bring the project into future phases of development.

To discuss Founding Member giving opportunities starting at $25,000, please contact Ryan Edwards at [email protected].

Your one-time or monthly contribution can have a sizable impact on a public art project that will leave a legacy of innovation at the intersection of creativity and climate action, in Boston and beyond, for years to come.

To learn more about the artwork and additional ways to become involved in the project of bringing it online, check out our online deck.

Stocks and Bonds

Make a gift of publicly-traded securities to and potentially save income tax and capital gains tax, too.

A gift of publicly-traded securities could be right for you if:

  • You own publicly-traded securities that you have held for at least one year.

  • Some of these securities have increased in value since you bought them.

  • Some of these securities may provide you with little or no income.

  • You would like to make a gift to support  this project

How It Works

  • You transfer shares of one or more publicly-traded securities, such as stock, bonds, and mutual funds

Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-Advised Funds (DAF) are an increasingly popular way to make a charitable gift. DAFs can provide you with immediate tax benefits while making your charitable giving easier. Just contact your Donor-Advised Fund administrator to recommend a grant to the Illuminated Tobin project.

You can recommend that your favorite public charities, such as Accumulating Rhythms through ABC, receive grants from your Donor-Advised Fund. Most Donor-Advised Funds have a minimum grant recommendation, or you can recommend distributing the entire balance of your Donor-Advised Fund for a cause important to you.

ABC is grateful for grants that come from Donor-Advised Funds. You can make a gift with your DAF here:
