Gloretta Baynes
Gloretta Baynes is a Cambridge native and alumna of the Massachusetts College of Art. She is an independent curator and consultant for “Violence Transformed,” and the Associate Curator with Artist/Curator Rob Stull for Sequential Art, The Next Step, and also has previously lent her talents to the curation of other exhibits in the Greater Boston area and direction of arts organizations, such as Museum of the National Center of Afro American Artists. As an artist, Gloretta’s mediums are airbrush, pen & ink, pencil, fabric, collage, mixed media, and digital photography. She has created commissioned works for Say Brother (Channel 2), the Harvard Radcliff Afro-American Center, the Children’s Hospital, and Cooper House. Gloretta’s work is in the collection of the Dei Foundation & Art Alliance, Ghana; the Oyasaf Foundation, Nigeria; private collectors, the Museum of the National Center of Afro-American Artists, and the Association of African American Museums.
