Mariona Lloreta is a Mediterranean-American multidisciplinary artist and educator working across film, poetry, painting, and dance. Her creative practice explores identity, memory, and belonging, with a deep commitment to amplifying narratives that have been historically silenced or flattened. Through her work, Mariona creates space for empathy, reflection, and connection, inviting audiences to engage with complex human experiences across cultures and generations.
Her projects include the multidisciplinary project ALTARS, which brought together Boston-based artists responding to racial injustice, as well as numerous internationally recognized films. Mariona’s work has received awards and selections at Oscar-qualifying festivals worldwide, including Reel Sisters Film Festival, Edmonton International Film Festival, and Zinebi in Spain. In addition to her artistic practice, she has produced and edited documentaries and narrative films, often centering the voices of femme, immigrant, and artists of color.
Mariona is also deeply committed to mentorship and expanding access for emerging storytellers. Through the Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship, Mariona looks forward to strengthening the sustainability of her practice while continuing to nurture the next generation of artists and leaders.
