A ground breaking mobile art space
Catherine also created and manages the Burlington Micro Gallery, a mobile art space dedicated to accessibility and community engagement. Housed in a stunningly refurbished mobile trailer, this innovative project eliminates barriers to art access by bringing exhibitions directly to diverse audiences, reimagining how and where art is experienced.

The Burlington Micro Gallery is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in community-focused projects. Featuring a large viewing window, the gallery allows exhibitions to be enjoyed 24/7, free of charge, bringing creativity into everyday spaces. Each year, the gallery will showcase exhibitions highlighting the work of Massachusetts-based artists, offering a diverse range of perspectives and practices.

A Q&A with Catherine LeComte Lecce
We recently sat down with Catherine to ask her about her experience in the Creative Entrepreneurship Fellowship Program.

How did the CEF program impact you as a creative entrepreneur?
The Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship gave me the tools and confidence to grow both as an artist and as a leader. Having access to resources like Lawyers for the Arts, financial consulting, and marketing support helped me build a stronger foundation for my creative work. It also gave me the chance to step back from the day-to-day and really think about the bigger picture, how to make my projects sustainable and impactful in the long run.

Can you tell us about your time during the CEF program? Was there a specific workshop, meeting, or connection you would like to touch on?
I really valued the one-on-one meetings with Ileana Doble Hernández, her guidance helped me set clear goals and take real steps toward them. The financial wellbeing workshop with Elaine Grogan Luttrell and the legal session with Luke Blackadar were especially eye-opening, helping me feel more confident in the business and administrative side of my work. I also loved connecting with mentors in my field, including local gallery owners and curators I might not have met otherwise. Those conversations gave me a fresh perspective on leadership, sustainability, and how to keep growing as an artist.

Can you share specific achievements or outcomes that you experienced as a result of the program?
Since completing the fellowship, I’ve been able to strengthen and expand two major initiatives: the Burlington Micro Gallery, a mobile art space I co-founded with the Town of Burlington, and my curatorial and leadership work with the Photographic Resource Center in Cambridge. The program helped me refine my approach to strategic planning, fundraising, and community engagement, skills I now use daily.

What prompted you to apply for the Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship? Would you recommend it to someone that is considering applying?
I applied seeking support in launching and sustaining the Burlington Micro Gallery, a mobile art space I co-founded to make art more accessible to the community. I wanted guidance on how to grow it into a long-term success while balancing my creative and administrative work. The CEF program gave me exactly that, along with incredible mentorship, practical business tools, and a supportive community of artists. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to take their creative practice or project to the next level.
