Business Essentials for Creative Entrepreneurs: Introduction to Copyright

September 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

What is copyright? What does it do? Why have I been told to “copyright” my work? Do I “own” copyright? Why does this matter?

Copyright is a fundamental legal protection that gives creators the power to control access to their work. In this workshop, we’ll explain basic principles of copyright: what it is, what it protects, what protection entails, and how you can be proactive in securing copyright protection for your own creative work. This workshop is appropriate for creatives of all disciplines and career stages!

This workshop is presented in partnership with the Boston Public Library, located at the Central Library in Copley Square. This event takes place in the Kirstein Business Library’s Exchange classroom, located on the lower level of the Boylston Building.

Programming at the Boston Public Library is funded through private support. To learn more about supporting the Library, please visit the Boston Public Library Fund’s website:https://bplfund.org/

Accessibility Notice: We strive to make our events accessible. To request a disability accommodation and/or language services, contact the department listed in the “Contact Info” pane on the right. Please allow at least two weeks to arrange accommodation.
