Aaisha Anwar – jewelry designer
Aaisha Anwar is a Boston-based jewelry designer specializing in wire wrapping and bead crocheting, and loves to utilize different techniques and textures into her pieces. She is a self-taught artist and works mostly in gold, silver, gemstones, and pearls, taking inspiration from her cultural roots and nature. Aaisha previously worked at Women’s Craft Corporation at Rosie’s Place for ten years where she taught jewelry making skills to other women. During her time there, her designs were featured in J. Jill’s catalogue. Currently, she works at Bead + Fiber in the South End where she continues to teach jewelry making classes. She enjoys selling her unique handmade pieces at craft shows and open studios in the Boston area such as SoWa Open Market. Immigrating from Pakistan to Boston, Aaisha fell in love with the city and has been a resident for over 25 years. In her free time, she enjoys walking along the Charles River and spending time with her three kids and two cats.
