Nan Joubá (el/elle) explora la riqueza de identidades híbridas a lo largo de las Américas reconociéndonos como agentes sociales que reproducimos hábitos y tendencias, individues capaces de cuestionarlas, y colectivos cósmicos sensibles al cambio. Oriundo del enclave ríoplatense de la Argentina, ha viajado a lo largo de Sudamérica y los Estados Unidos hasta asentarse en la ciudad de Providence (Rhode Island) donde actualmente desarrolla su práctica como escritor y artista. Sus crónicas de viaje han sido reconocidas con el MacColl Johnson Fellowship (2022) y publicadas por Pilgrimage Press. Entre otros honores, es becario del National Art Strategies (NAS), ex-becario del Ministerio de Educación del Japón (School of Tokyo Visual Arts, 2008), y ex-residente de Cité Internationale des Artes (Francia, 2018) y Estudios at MassMoCA (2021).
Nan Joubá (he/they) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and studied filmmaking in Tokyo, Japan; where he started exploring hybrid identities through video, performances and writing. He has hitchhiked across South and North America, and written a series of essays for which they received the MacColl Johnson Fellowship in creative writing (2021). After almost a decade living in Providence (RI), hernán has established a practice that combines cultural organizing efforts, the production of large special events and community-oriented workshops, with creative projects of devised theater, live installations and public space interventions. Among other honours, he’s a DESIGNxRI catalyst grantee (2023); a New England Creative Community Fellow by NAS (2022); a past resident of Studios at MassMoCA (2021); and a scholarship recipient from the Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT).
