Sara Mraish-Demeter es la fundadora y directora ejecutiva de Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK), una organización educativa innovadora sin fines de lucro que ha atendido a más de 7000 estudiantes y se dedica a brindar educación artística a las escuelas públicas de bajos recursos. Sara es la fuerza impulsora detrás del marco catalizador de creatividad de ARCK, que apoya al niño(a) de manera integral a través de una lente de aprendizaje socioemocional, creatividad, justicia social y equidad.
Como refugiada e inmigrante en los Estados Unidos, la pasión de Sara por garantizar que todos los niños tengan acceso a la educación artística es profundamente personal. Cuando era niña, Sara utilizó las artes y la creatividad para ayudar a traer estabilidad, expresión y curación a su nueva vida en un nuevo lugar. Años más tarde, mientras criaba a su familia en Boston, vio que la escuela de su hijo perdía su programa de arte, por lo que no pudo quedarse quieta y ver cómo a los niños se les quitaban esta herramienta que les puede cambiar la vida. Sara Mraish-Demeter is the Founder and CEO of Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK), an innovative education non-profit that has served over 7000 students and is dedicated to bringing arts education back to under-resourced public schools. Sara is the driving force behind ARCK’s Creativity Catalyst framework, which supports the whole child through a lens of social-emotional learning, creativity, social justice, and equity.
A refugee and an immigrant to the United States, Sara’s passion for ensuring that every child has access to arts education is deeply personal. As a child Sara used arts and creativity to help bring stability, expression, and healing to her new life in a new place. Years later, raising her family in Boston, saw her son’s school lose its art program and could not stand by and watch kids have this life-altering tool taken away from them. And so, ARCK was born.
Now a widely recognized leader in the education space, Sara remains committed to providing students with the creative thinking and social skills that advance their classroom learning and are crucial to their future success. In 2016, Sara was honored with the EXTRAordinary Woman of Boston Award from Boston Mayor, Martin J. Walsh’s Office of Women’s Advancement and a recipient of ArtsLearning Award for Outstanding Community Arts Education Collaborative. An active participant in the Social Innovation Forum and Power Launch inaugural Social Change Fellows cohort, Sara also served on Boston’s Mayor Kim Janey’s 2021 Transitional Education Subcommittee.
