Business on Board
The A&BC’s Business on Board program provides board service training for executives and board development consulting resources for nonprofits.
“Get on Board!” Seminars
Boston-area nonprofit organizations are in need of experienced business professionals to share their unique expertise and passion for important causes. Business skills, enthusiasm, and the desire to make a positive difference can have a huge impact on any organization. If you have always wanted to serve on the board of a nonprofit, now is your chance to learn what is required and to find the organization that’s right for you.
Get on Board, a one-day bootcamp, prepares business professionals for the rewarding experience of volunteerism, nonprofit leadership, and board participation. Participants learn about the different types and structures of boards, as well as the roles, responsibilities, and legal obligations of nonprofit board members. This seminar also provides the tools and resources to find the organization that is a best fit for an individual’s skills and passions.
The A&BC also offers custom Get on Board engagements for corporations. If you are interested in bringing this program to your company, please contact us.

“Your Business on Board seminar was smart, insightful, comprehensive, and offered confidence-building steps for those of us who can drive but struggle finding a good map to our destination—thank you for that. The social aspect of board relationships was a new idea to me, and it really was a revelation for me going forward in the hopes of being a better board member and leader.”
“I took so much away from the the Get on Board seminar the other day—everything was so well done. I’m most impressed with how memorable you made the content. I think that’s a credit to the material and how well-honed it is, but also to your passion, experience, and presentation abilities. I’m also in the middle of a job search and am investigating the possibility of working in the nonprofit sector, possibly in a development role. So this was tremendously beneficial for me from that standpoint as well. Thank you! ”
“We are proud to offer this professional development opportunity to our employees. This is the best program available and is a must have for any company that believes in and invests in corporate citizenship training.”
