SOUND
SCULPTURE
SCULPTURE
SOUND SCULPTURE is an interactive public art creation designed to make musical composition more physical and sculptural creation more audible. Portable, location-aware blocks are manipulated in space to create physical / sound / light structures. This project is designed for installation at galleries, schools, community centers, science museums, music festivals, and more.
Presented by Masary Studios and directed by Ryan Edwards, we intend to make SOUND SCULPTURE a powerful, durable public art interface and share it widely. We see multiple applications for this project going forward that integrate sound, sculpture, and lighting into one elegant interface that could be showcased at educational facilities, to populations with disabilities (the deaf SEEING a composition physically in space and light!), science and children’s museums, fine art museums, public plaza presentations, music festivals, architectural applications, performance integration, and more!
