Laura Palmer Edwards – painter and mixed media artist

Laura Palmer Edwards returned to the studio and art class in 2002 after a 25-year hiatus. She was lured back into painting in response to loss & grief and as she did throughout her early years, used art as therapy and in the process awakened a long-repressed dream. Influenced by a class called ‘Art as Process,’ the philosophy and freedom unleashed an emerging artist. Involvement in ‘Art As Process’ set in motion a dramatic life shift where her focus became making art. Her first major sale was during the Annual December Sale Fundraiser at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, in 2003 generating sales in excess of $1500, and was named a Medici Scholar. She has produced and sold original paintings and mixed media images since 2002. Her works hang in numerous institutional and private collections in the U.S. and abroad. She works from her home studio and shows her work through private showcases, select vendor opportunities, and juried group exhibits. She is interested in representation.
